Huaraz city (3,090m.) Is located 400km. north of Lima about seven hours by Bus, 40 minutes by airplane, Huaraz is capital of the department of Ancash it the main city in the Callejón de Huaylas.

Huaraz is the center for high- altitude sports and outdoor activities it is used as the base for many expeditions trekking, climbing, mountaineering, mountain bike, horseback riding around the Blanca mountain range, Huayhuash mountain range and Raura.

Climate: The climate of Huaraz and the Cordillera Blanca is tropical not warn. The months of November through the beginning of May is considered the rainy season with temperatures ranging from 20-25º C centigrade. May through September Andean Summer” are the best months to visit, but are a little colder (approx. 10-20º C), but without rain.

Getting There

• By air:
The airport infrastructure is limited , only there is a small airport to 20km. south Huaraz city, it is located in Anta village approx. 40 minutes from Lima to Huaraz.

• By road:
It is the most common way it has an asphalted road of 400km. from the Lima city, the time that delay an interprovincial bus is from 7 to 8 hours. The price of a passage in interprovincial bus changes in function to the quality of service that the companies.
